Loadbeds strengthen forces’ logistics capability

Marshall Canada was joined by colleagues from its UK land business at Craig Manufacturing’s New Brunswick facility recently to mark a red letter day in the MSVS programme.

MSVS is a Government of Canada project to acquire a fleet of more than 1,500 medium capacity logistics trucks for the Canadian Armed Forces that will provide logistical support during domestic and international operations.

Marshall won the contract to provide its industry leading loadbeds, renowned for their strength and resilience in the toughest of terrains, to the programme back in 2016. Since then, more than 800 loadbeds have rolled over the production line at Craig Manufacturing.

Marshall is also providing ancillary equipment, including snow chain locker boxes for the whole fleet, which includes more than 700 Load Handling Systems (LHS) vehicles.

Sam Michaud, Managing Director, Marshall Canada, said:

“Marshall military loadbeds are widely acknowledged to be the best in the market and have been exported across the globe for many years. However, our partnership with Craig has enabled us to manufacture in country, just an hour’s drive north of the Canadian Army’s largest training base.

“I’d like to thank Ben Craig and the team at New Brunswick for the professional way in which they have delivered this programme for us. It is a shining example of how two businesses can work to each other’s strength to deliver value for our government and create and sustain important manufacturing jobs in Canada.”
